WOW is all I can say about the first Annual Peter Kippie Memorial Six Red Championship. The overwhelming support both by players and fans was beyond what any of us could have imagined. A special thanks to The Corner Bank for holding this great event and all the great work from the organizers John White, Jim Wych & Presley Bacchus. We also had a very special $1,000 donation from Jeff White and Gus Ivals which we want to say Thank You. I personally never met Peter but I have heard great things about tthis great man.

To start off the first day we had a full field of 64 players with many more on a waiting list which gave us the idea for next year. We will try to accommodate everyone and open it up to 128 player field and possibly extend the days.

First round play got under way at 11:00 where we seen many rounds go down to a final frame. After the first round was complete we ran a Calcutta and a re Draw for the last 32 and again we found a lot of matches going down to a final frame. Around midnight we had our 16 player field to make up a exciting final day of Snooker. Stay tuned to all the exciting news from the final matches.

The second day proved to be much different then day one. A lot of matches being won three straight. Amazing what some sleep can do for some players. At the end of the day the final match came down to Danny Glumicic one of our seasoned veterans against a new comer  Mike Kelly, Danny continued his strong play with a 3-0 win.

Congratulations Danny Glumicic

Congratulations to Nicholas Ridley with a high break of 53

The big winner of the weekend was Peter Kippie. Some of his great friends and great players showed up to show their loyal support to a past friend. We all look forward to next year and growing this tournament into one of the best.

The Corner Bank will be hosting our next qualifier Event #7 on Jan 7. Our online registration will be up in the next couple of weeks.
